Born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia (currently known as Serbia) in the 1940s, Agi is a child survivor of the  Holocaust, an event that transpired during WWII. The Holocaust was a genocide during the 1930s-1940s in which Nazi Germany had systematically murdered up to 6 million Jewish people all around Europe. Agi's story features the restricting and oppressive environment present in Europe during that time and the hardships she went through surviving with her family.
